We know the future of healthcare depends on skilled, well-trained Healthcare Technology Managers (HTMs), including biomedical technicians. That’s why we launched the ReNew Biomedical Training Academy, a program to train and educate aspiring biomeds with knowledge and real-world experience.

Training the Next Generation of Biomedical Technicians

Biomedical technicians are in high demand among healthcare facilities like hospitals, clinics, and ISOs across the country. The ReNew Biomedical Apprenticeship Program trains the next generation of Healthcare Technology Managers, equipping them for industry-certifications to continue skilled labor in the biomedical field.

In 2021, we launched our inaugural class of biomedical technicians-in-training. Since then, we’ve graduated 10 classes, for a total of 51 CABTs and 12 CBETs. We are now accepting applications for students who wish to join the next round of classes.

Our Training Academy program received national recognition as the first AAMI-partnered Apprenticeship Program in the biomedical industry.

In 2023, AAMI, the governing body behind Biomedical Certification, recognized the RBTA as the first-ever AAMI and Department of Labor HTM Apprenticeship program graduate a CABT and CBET certified technician.

The Training Academy is certified by the Federal Department of Labor as a Registered Apprenticeship Program, and is also partnered with the TN Dept. of Economic & Community Development. Apply today or contact us to learn more!

Online HTM Fundamentals Course

Interested in preparing for the CABT exam, but unable to enroll in our in-person courses? The HTM Fundamentals course is a self-paced, fully online program that provides a strong foundation in healthcare technology management. Taught by experienced technicians, this course helps students build the technical knowledge and confidence needed to succeed.

The Online HTM Fundamentals course includes videos, transcripts, and quizzes to prepare for the biomedical career path.

Do you offer these classes online?

We offer online prep courses for certain certifications through our online Training Academy portal.

Do I have to be a resident of TN?

You have to live in Tennessee to join the Apprenticeship Program. However, you can take our online HTM prep courses from anywhere in the world

Do I have to take the entire 2-Year course?

No, you can choose to only take the certification test for the course you participate in, however we highly recommend finishing both certifications.
