Day One: The Birth of ReNew Biomedical
The year was 2014. The world was obsessed with the Ice Bucket Challenge, and we were singing “Happy” by Pharrell Williams. ReNew Biomedical was born in the corner of the Master Medical Equipment warehouse—barely as big as a closet.
From the start, we knew our mission: to be the best in the business at keeping life-saving equipment ready to roll at a moment’s notice. Sure, we were the new kids on the block, but we had big dreams.
Several moves later, we set up shop in our current location in Jackson, Tennessee. From our humble corner-of-the-warehouse beginnings, we grew to a much larger corner of the warehouse. As we grew, we installed state-of-the-art biomedical benches, new offices and structures, and expanded not once or twice but three times inside the Master Medical facility.
Our Secret Sauce
What makes ReNew Biomedical tick? It’s the people. Our team of AAMI-Certified and OEM-Trained staff is the heart and soul of this operation. From our military veterans to our young HTM professionals and service coordinators, to our seasoned HTM journeymen, our team has seen and done it all.
Here’s the thing: They don’t just fix problems; they help prevent them. With expert care, our Healthcare Technology Managers help avoid many types of costly repairs down the line. In fact, biomedical technicians are often overlooked despite being a cornerstone of our healthcare system. To our amazing techs—you are the unsung heroes of ReNew. Without your dedication and skill, we wouldn’t be here today. To the techs and staff who’ve brought us here past, present, and future, we salute you!
10 Years of Growth
We’ve grown from a small operation to a company that services EMS organizations nationwide. Our scope has expanded, our team has grown, and our passion for what we do has only deepened.
Milestones:
- In 2020, ReNew announced the ReNew Biomedical Apprenticeship Program, creating 50 HTM jobs in a five-year period.
- In 2021, Renew launched the ReNew Biomedical Biomedical Apprenticeship Program to be partnered with AAMI and the Federal Dept. of Labor.
- In 2021, ReNew launched our Chicago depot, focused on servicing the Midwest.
- In 2021, ReNew became ISO-Certified.
- In 2023, ReNew graduated the first ever Certified Biomedical Equipment Technician through an AAMI-Partnered training program.
- In 2023, ReNew launched depot service locations in Louisville and Atlanta.
- In 2024, ReNew launched the ReNew Asset Management System (RAMS), a proprietary software revolutionizing asset management and maintenance for healthcare organizations.
Through it all, we’ve kept our core values at the forefront: Quality, Integrity, and Service. We’re not just here to fix equipment; we’re here to build relationships and solve problems.
